Why the Development Camp
Every player gets coached
Capping sessions at 10 players means Dave sees every touch. You get individual corrections, more time on the ball than at a typical club training night, and enough players to make the practices feel like a real game.
Every camp follows a structured syllabus, so each week builds on the last. You'll leave knowing exactly what you've improved and how it applies to your game.

Inside the camp
What we actually do
- 01
Arrive and activate
A football-specific warm-up built on injury-prevention principles — movement, mobility and quick feet with the ball, so you're ready to train at match intensity.
- 02
Technical focus
One part of the syllabus each session — receiving under pressure, striking, 1v1 attacking and defending, or playing out. Lots of touches, clear coaching points, and individual feedback.
- 03
Small-sided practices
2v1s, 3v2s and overloaded practices that recreate real match moments, so the skill carries into Saturday or Sunday. Decisions, not drills.
- 04
Review and takeaway
A quick debrief and one thing to work on before next time. Progress you can feel from week to week.
The syllabus
A plan, not random sessions
Coaching isn't one-off topics — it's a syllabus. Each week's session sits under one of three overall themes, then breaks that theme down into its different parts, so you build a real understanding of the game rather than isolated skills.
In possession
e.g. Playing through central areas
Out of possession
e.g. Pressing high to win the ball back
Transitions
e.g. Being direct when winning the ball back
Stepping up
A great introduction to women's football
For younger players aged 16+ moving up into women's football, the Development Camp is an ideal bridge. You train alongside experienced adult players in a supportive setting, get used to the pace and physicality of the women's game, and build the confidence to make the step into open-age squads.
